This week’s blog is about my concerns with the Global Fund’s ‘deal’ with Lombard Odier, a Swiss private bank. Today my letter to the Lancet was published which outlines these concerns. I lay out several questions that the board of the Global Fund for AIDs, TB and Malaria should address. The letter is here:

The Global Fund handles almost ten billion dollars, of which more than 99% comes from taxpayers and Foundations. That is five times the annual income of WHO. In my view, doing deals with bankers at Davos, without proper scrutiny, is inappropriate for such a global public good.
